ISLAMABAD: Iran has granted special permission for two Pakistani vessels to pass through the Strait of Hormuz, officials confirmed.
The ships, PNSC Multan and the chartered vessel PL-Eki, had been stranded in the Persian Gulf for over a month following the outbreak of the ongoing conflict in the region.
According to shipping sources, the chartered vessel PL-Eki is carrying 8.5 million liters of crude oil, and both ships are scheduled to reach Pakistan on March 31.
The passage marks a continuation of Iran’s previous practice of allowing Pakistani ships safe transit through the strategic waterway.
The vessels departed near the Gulf countries yesterday and are traveling via the Iran-approved route, highlighting coordinated maritime arrangements amid regional tensions.
Shipping authorities emphasized that such permissions are critical to maintaining the flow of essential cargo between Pakistan and the Gulf.
