WASHINGTON: The U.S. Supreme Court has ruled in favor of former President Donald Trump’s immigration policy, allowing the deportation of undocumented immigrants.
According to American media, the decision marks a significant legal victory for Trump’s approach to immigration enforcement.
Last month, the Supreme Court had blocked the Trump administration from resuming deportations of certain asylum seekers. The administration had earlier announced the termination of legal protections for over 500,000 immigrants, giving them until April 24 to leave the country.
Despite this recent ruling in Trump’s favor, the court had previously restricted his administration from using the Alien Enemies Act to deport immigrants, particularly those from Latin American countries, which Trump had targeted under his broader deportation campaign.
In response to the earlier restrictions, Trump criticized the judiciary, stating: “Judges are not allowing me to do what the American people elected me to do.”
