BRADFORD: A British-Pakistani woman, Sidra Nosheen, has been sentenced to 21 and a half years in prison for her role in an international heroin smuggling operation, British authorities confirmed.

According to the UK National Crime Agency (NCA), Nosheen was a key member of an organized criminal network involved in smuggling heroin from Pakistan to the United Kingdom.

During a raid on her Bradford residence last year, authorities recovered heroin worth approximately $10 million, concealed in clothing, buckets, wallpaper rolls, and bags.

Investigators revealed that hundreds of messages found on Nosheen’s mobile phone showed regular communication with facilitators based in Pakistan. The messages detailed plans for the transportation, delivery, and distribution of drugs across the UK.

The NCA stated that Nosheen personally delivered several kilograms of heroin to different individuals within Britain. On one occasion, she reportedly received £250,000 from a criminal group in Bradford as payment for her involvement.

During proceedings at Bradford Crown Court, the 34-year-old pleaded guilty to charges of importing and supplying heroin. While delivering the verdict, the judge said that Nosheen, who appeared to live a modest life, was in fact a central figure in a major drug trafficking conspiracy.
