LONDON: The United Kingdom has reopened its embassy in Iran’s capital, Tehran, following a temporary closure.
According to the UK Foreign Office, the embassy resumed operations after being shut down last month due to security concerns stemming from the Iran–Israel conflict.
During that period, the UK evacuated its diplomatic staff from Tehran as a precaution. In addition, the United Arab Emirates also announced it had completed the evacuation of its citizens from Iran amid rising tensions.
Diplomatic sources say the decision to reopen reflects a relative easing of immediate security threats, though the situation remains tense. The UK government has urged its citizens in Iran to remain vigilant and follow local advice.
Regional analysts warn that despite the reopening, diplomatic relations between Iran and Western countries remain strained. They highlight the need for sustained dialogue to prevent further escalation and to address underlying disputes.
