WASHINGTON: In light of escalating tensions in the Middle East, the U.S. Department of State has issued a strict advisory urging American citizens to avoid all travel to Iran and Iraq, whether for personal or business reasons.
According to spokesperson Tammy Bruce, this decision has been made to ensure the safety of U.S. citizens, which remains the department’s top priority. The spokesperson emphasized that the security situation in Iran is highly unstable, and therefore, all travel should be avoided. A similar warning has been issued for Iraq, highlighting significant security risks.
To address these concerns, the State Department has established a special task force dedicated to ensuring the safety of Americans in the region and providing immediate assistance if needed.
Furthermore, the department advised that if travel is absolutely necessary, individuals must contact the nearest U.S. Embassy or Consulate prior to making any arrangements.
American citizens are strongly urged to follow all current travel advisories and stay informed about developments in the region to avoid potential threats.
