US Embassy in Islamabad Highlights Engagements with Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: The US Embassy in Islamabad has released a video detailing a week of diplomatic activities between the United States and Pakistan.

In the video, US Embassy spokesperson Ken Harrelson highlights key events and initiatives that marked another productive week in the relationship between the two nations.

Harrelson begins the video by saying, “Let’s take a look at another fruitful week in US-Pakistan relations.” He goes on to explain several diplomatic initiatives that took place during the week, including the launch of the “Freedom 250: The

Entrepreneurs Roadmap” speaker series in Islamabad. The series featured Donna Carpenter, co-founder and chair of Burton Snowboards, who hosted a discussion with former US exchange student and adventure athlete, Samer Khan.

According to Harrelson, a new educational working group was also established between the US Embassy and the Pakistani government. The group’s focus is to promote closer collaboration in technical and higher education fields.

The video also mentions a meeting with former participants of the 2025 International Visitor Leadership Program, where valuable connections were made between US experts and Pakistani counterparts in fields ranging from energy to law enforcement.

In Karachi, US Consul General Goodman attended the graduation ceremony of 200 students from the English Access Program. This program aims to enhance students’ English language skills and empower young people to contribute to economic development, benefiting both Pakistan and the United States.

In Peshawar, US Consul General Eckert held discussions with the US Consulate’s Youth Council, focusing on promoting prosperity through American innovation in e-commerce, business, and e-gaming. Meanwhile, in Punjab, Consul General Sanders visited a UNICEF relief center supported by the United States, which is assisting communities affected by recent floods. Sanders also inaugurated the restoration of a historic clock tower, funded by US financial assistance.

In the video, Harrelson noted that Consul General Sanders also recognized the achievements of 450 English Access graduates and met with former US exchange program participants who are making a positive impact in their communities.

The video concludes with an update on US Chargé d’Affaires, Natalie Baker’s visit to Sindh, where she met with local leaders and engaged with the agricultural and business communities. Baker took the opportunity to strengthen ties with the region while also enjoying local cultural traditions.

Ken Harrelson closed the video by emphasizing that it had been another inspiring week for US-Pakistan relations. As the US celebrates its 250th anniversary of independence, Harrelson said the embassy continues to deepen bilateral ties with Pakistan, marking another milestone in their enduring partnership.
