US Likely to Lift Immigration Visa Restrictions Soon: PPP Senator

WASHINGTON: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Senator Saleem Mandviwalla has expressed hope that the United States will soon lift restrictions related to immigration visas for Pakistan.

Speaking to media in Washington, Senator Mandviwalla said discussions are underway regarding the immigration visa ban imposed on Pakistan. He added that the issue of Afghan nationals entering Pakistan using Pakistani identification documents will also be raised with US authorities.

The senator further stated that another Pakistani parliamentary delegation is expected to visit the United States in the near future. “We are trying to build harmony and strengthen coordination between public representatives of both countries,” he said.

It is worth noting that a Pakistan–US Inter-Parliamentary Dialogue recently took place in Washington. Pakistan was represented by Senator Saleem Mandviwalla and Senator Rana Mahmood-ul-Hassan.

During the dialogue, both sides discussed parliamentary cooperation, security, trade, and other matters of mutual interest.
