US Orders Fresh Security Review of All Afghan Arrivals

WASHINGTON: The White House has announced that the United States will conduct a thorough re-evaluation of all individuals who entered the country from Afghanistan, following heightened national security concerns.

The decision was confirmed by White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt during a media briefing.

Leavitt stated that President Donald Trump had directed a comprehensive reassessment of every Afghan migrant currently in the country. She said that “any individual found to be a threat to national security will be removed from the United States without delay.”

According to the spokesperson, the government has temporarily halted all refugee-related decisions, including asylum cases and the issuance of Special Immigrant Visas (SIVs).

She added that the recent tragic incident involving an Afghan national has reinforced the administration’s focus on large-scale deportation measures.

Speaking about President Trump’s health, Leavitt said the president is in excellent condition. His MRI was conducted as a precautionary measure, and results show his heart to be completely healthy.

The United States has also suspended visa issuance for anyone traveling on an Afghan passport. All ongoing asylum applications have been paused.

These actions were taken after an Afghan citizen opened fire on members of the National Guard last week, prompting a nationwide security review.
