WASHINGTON: The United States has halted the issuance of visas to foreign truck drivers.
U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced on social media that the issuance of worker visas for commercial truck drivers has been suspended immediately.
He claimed that a large number of foreign drivers operating trucks not only endangers the lives of American citizens but also affects the livelihood of local truck drivers.
A few days ago, the U.S. Department of State also announced a halt on tourist visas for Palestinians coming from Gaza.
The department stated that the issuance of the small number of recent visas was paused for verification purposes.
