RAWALPINDI: Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Asim Munir has stated that the use of Afghan territory against Pakistan is unacceptable.

He said that all necessary measures will be taken to counter threats emanating from across the border.

He made these remarks during his visit to Wana in South Waziristan, where he addressed officers and troops stationed along the western border.

During the visit, Field Marshal Munir reviewed the prevailing security situation and operational preparedness along the western frontier. He laid a wreath at the martyrs’ memorial and paid tribute to those who sacrificed their lives for the country.

He described the sacrifices of the martyrs as the foundation of Pakistan’s security and stability.

Upon his arrival, he was received by the Corps Commander Peshawar. Senior local officials briefed him in detail on the current security environment, ongoing intelligence-based operations, Operation Ghazab Lil Haq, developments along the Pak-Afghan border, and border management measures.

The Army Chief also met officers and soldiers deployed at forward posts, discussing their professional responsibilities and operational challenges. He praised their professionalism, operational readiness, and high morale, commending their steadfastness during border skirmishes and their unwavering commitment to safeguarding national sovereignty.

Field Marshal Munir stated that the use of Afghan soil by “Fitna al-Khawarij” and “Fitna al-Hindustan” elements to carry out terrorist activities against Pakistan is intolerable. He reiterated Pakistan’s resolve to eliminate cross-border threats.

He emphasized that lasting peace would only be possible if the Afghan Taliban cease support for terrorist organizations and terrorism. He expressed full confidence in the combat readiness, coordination, and resilience of the formations deployed along the Pak-Afghan border.
