DUBLIN: Violence erupted in the capital city of Ireland on Thursday after two in incidents of stabbing by a knife-wielding man.
The stabbing incidents occured in the bustling City Centre and outside a school a few kilometres away. In the first incident, five people, including a five years old girl and a women were injured.
In the second incident, the knife-wielding man stabbed and injured a six years old girl and a five years old boy.
Police said a single person was involved in the stabbing incidents who has been arrested in an injured condition and hospitalized.
Soon after these incidents, panic gripped the otherwise peaceful city. Residents took to the streets and later went on a rampage.
The angry people set bus, train stations and other property on fire and also looted markets.
Police had to use tear gas shells to disperse the protesters and restore normality in the city.
The police said that the incidents were being probed but they have no links with any terror outfit.
