ISLAMABAD: Farooq Sattar, leader of MQM-Pakistan, expressed frustration over being denied a chance to speak at an important parliamentary meeting regarding the regional tensions following the US and Israeli airstrikes on Iran and the death of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
Sattar said that during the in-camera meeting of political leaders at the Prime Minister House, his microphone was cut off after only three minutes, preventing him from sharing his views.
He added that this behavior caused distress within the party, prompting them to stage a walkout.
Parliamentary leader Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui stated that Sattar would speak on his behalf. He also noted that the party had anticipated such treatment, citing similar issues in Sindh.
The meeting addressed rising tensions among Gulf countries and ongoing conflict in Afghanistan.
