KARACHI: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi stated that he wants to meet his leader Imran Khan, but no one has listened.

“When you are pushed against the wall, protest becomes the only option,” he said.

Addressing a gathering at the Sindh High Court, Afridi praised Imran Khan as fighting a true struggle for freedom and described him as Pakistan’s most popular leader.

Afridi said that protest politics is a last resort, allowed under the constitution and law, when all other avenues are blocked.

He claimed that three judges of the Islamabad High Court had authorized him to meet Imran Khan, but a jail superintendent disregarded the order. He said this was not a personal insult but a disrespect to the judiciary and the legal profession.

He criticized misuse of the constitution and law, stating that it harms not only institutions but the entire country, and said that justice should not be “for sale.” He also expressed gratitude to the lawyers of the Sindh High Court Bar for allowing him to address them, praising the courage and bravery of the Sindh public.

Afridi also mentioned that while Sindhis are hospitable and respect guests, the provincial government has not treated guests well, failing to honor local traditions such as the Ajrak and cap.
