TEHRAN: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that Iran is ready to halt its retaliatory attacks if Israel ceases its military aggression, but emphasized that no formal ceasefire agreement has been reached yet.
In a statement released early Tuesday, Araghchi confirmed that Iran continued its retaliatory operations until 4:00 a.m. local time. He added that Iran does not seek further escalation and will not continue attacks if Israel halts its operations. However, a final decision on ending military action altogether will be made later.
“Iran has made it clear that we do not want war, but we will respond firmly to any aggression,” he said.
According to Israeli media, Iran stopped its missile strikes around 6:00 a.m. Pakistan Standard Time. Meanwhile, former U.S. President Donald Trump reportedly urged Qatar to mediate a ceasefire, which led to Iran’s conditional acceptance of a U.S.-proposed truce, pending Israel’s compliance.
The situation remains tense, with Iran signaling restraint but maintaining readiness to respond if provoked.
