ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari has expressed Pakistan’s desire to strengthen cooperation with Qatar in the fields of investment and trade.
In a message on the occasion of Qatar’s National Day, President Zardari extended warm congratulations to the Amir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and the people of Qatar. He conveyed his best wishes for the continued progress and prosperity of the Gulf state.
The President said that Pakistan and Qatar share relations based on mutual respect and common values, adding that the ties between the two countries are close, friendly, and long-standing.
He praised Qatar’s remarkable development and achievements under the leadership of Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
President Zardari also commended Qatar’s positive role at the regional and global levels. He emphasized that Pakistan is keen to enhance collaboration with Qatar in investment and trade, particularly in key sectors such as energy, agriculture, and technology.
Highlighting the importance of people-to-people contacts, he said that manpower cooperation and public linkages form a strong foundation of bilateral relations.
The President reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to further strengthening its friendship and cooperation with Qatar.
