ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif are scheduled to meet at the Presidency this evening to discuss the formation of a new government in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), sources confirmed on Thursday.
According to insiders, Prime Minister Shehbaz will be accompanied by senior PML-N leaders, while PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari will lead his party’s delegation.
The PPP team will include Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, Nayyar Hussain Bukhari, and Sherry Rehman. Representing the government side will be Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Rana Sanaullah, and Amir Muqam.
Discussions are expected to focus on the prevailing political situation and the future setup in AJK. Sources say Bilawal Bhutto will brief the Prime Minister on the PPP’s nominee for the next AJK Prime Minister and extend an invitation to the PML-N to join the new cabinet.
