Zardari stresses stronger Pak-Bangladesh ties at cricket reception

I belong to generation that witnessed our separation; younger generation cannot fully understand pain of that division.

ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari has called for closer relations between Pakistan and Bangladesh, highlighting the need for cooperation and mutual prosperity.

Speaking at a reception held in honor of the national cricket teams of both countries, President Zardari stressed the importance of fostering stronger people-to-people connections, especially among the youth.

“I belong to the generation that witnessed our separation. The younger generation cannot fully understand the pain of that division,” President Zardari said. “Just like Pakistan, Bangladesh has been blessed with abundant resources by Allah. We must take steps that lead to the well-being of our people.”

He noted that there are vast opportunities for collaboration between the two nations and emphasized the role of youth in bridging the gap through increased interaction.

The event, hosted by Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, was held last night to honor the cricket teams of Pakistan and Bangladesh. President Zardari attended as the chief guest and warmly greeted players and officials from both sides, engaging in friendly handshakes and exchanges.

The reception served not only as a celebration of cricket but also as a platform to promote goodwill and strengthen diplomatic and cultural ties between the two South Asian neighbors.
