22 Iranians Arrive in Karachi After Release from US Custody

KARACHI: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said that 22 Iranian crew members from the vessel Leonor Devina, recently taken into US custody, have safely arrived in Karachi.

In a statement posted on X, Dar said arrangements are being finalized for the crew members’ safe return to Iran in close coordination with Iranian diplomatic missions in Pakistan.

He added that Pakistan remained in continuous contact with both US and Iranian authorities throughout the process. The group represents the fourth batch of Iranian nationals repatriated through Pakistan over the past two months.

According to Dar, with the arrival of the latest group, more than 70 Iranian citizens have now been safely transited through Pakistan and returned to their homeland.

The deputy prime minister thanked the Iranian leadership for its confidence in Pakistan and commended officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other relevant Pakistani institutions for their professional efforts in facilitating the safe transit and repatriation of the Iranian nationals.
