ISLAMABAD: Security forces conducted intelligence-based operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa over the past 48 hours, killing 23 terrorists during targeted raids, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The military’s media wing said the operations were carried out in Datta Khel, Spinwam, and Bannu. Among those killed was a high-value target, commander Jan Mir alias Tor Saqib, who was reportedly involved in multiple militant activities and was highly wanted.
ISPR stated that a large cache of weapons, explosives, and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) was recovered during the operations. Terrorist hideouts, tunnels, and bunkers used by militants were also destroyed.
The statement added that security forces are continuing clearance and sanitisation operations in the affected areas to eliminate any remaining threats.
ISPR further said that counter-terrorism operations under “Azm-e-Istehkam” have been intensified, reaffirming the resolve to eliminate terrorism from the country, including threats backed by foreign support.
