KARACHI: Immigration authorities offloaded 36 passengers trying to travel to 13 countries from different flights for various reasons.
According to the authorities, the immigration officials at the Jinnah International Airport Karachi offloaded 36 passengers departing for 13 countries, including Turkey, Romania, Singapore and Saudi Arabia, for various in the last 24 hours.
The authorities said 13 Umrah pilgrims were stopped on their way to Saudi Arabia for not having enough money for advance hotel bookings and expenses.
Moreover, 11 passengers going to Iran, Thailand, Turkey, Singapore, Georgia, Somaliland, the Emirates and Fiji were taken off the flights while a passenger with a residence card of Greece was also offloaded.
The officials said seven passengers on work visas of Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Tanzania and Romania were also offloaded for not completing various documents.
Crackdowns on illegal immigrants and agents sending people abroad have been intensified bybthe authorities on direction of the federal government after frequent accidents abroad in which Pakistani immigrants lost their lives.
