UNITED NATIONS: As many as 85 United Nations member states and several international organizations in a joint statement have condemned Israel’s unilateral measures and policies in the occupied West Bank and rejected it’s annexation plan.
The statement at the UN was delivered by Riyad Mansour, Permanent Observer of the State of Palestine to the United Nations.
Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, Permanent Representative of Pakistan to the United Nations, represented Pakistan at the media stakeout organized by the State of Palestine.
The statement strongly condemned unilateral Israeli decisions and measures aimed at expanding its unlawful presence in the West Bank and altering the demographic composition, character, and status of the Palestinian Territory occupied since 1967, including East Jerusalem.
It stated that these unilateral actions constitute clear violations of international law and relevant UN resolutions.
The statement further noted that such measures undermine ongoing efforts to promote peace and stability in the region, run counter to the spirit and objectives of the Comprehensive Peace Plan.
Moreover, it seriously jeopardize the prospects of achieving a just and lasting settlement based on the Two-State Solution.
