Two PIA flight attendants disappear after landing in Toronto
Spokesman says authorities in Canada informed about the matter.
ISLAMABAD: Two senior flight attendants of PIA have slipped away in Canada after the national flag carrier landed at Toronto, a spokesman for the airline stated.
The flight PK-772 had reached the Canadian city grom Islamabad. It’s not the first time such an incident has occurred. Last year, two attendants of the PIA also disappeared after reaching Canada.
The spokesperson identified the two flight attendants who slipped away in the latest episode as Khalid Mehmood and Fida Hussain.
“On its scheduled return to Islamabad, the two senior crew members did not turn up in Toronto. The flight had to return to Islamabad without the two flight attendants,” he added in a statement.
He added that Canadian authorities in Toronto had been informed about the disappearance of the two staff members. He said strict departmental action would be initiated against both of them and after investigation, their services would be terminated.
However, the flight attendants in the past after slipping away did not return to the country as they had planned to live in Canada by managing immigration documents.
Pakistan has seen a large number of its citizens leaving for abroad legally and illegally.
Hundreds of people have lost their lives in trying to reach European countries in search of jobs through human smugglers.
