UC chairman killed during street fighting

Locals say two groups of neighbors resorted to firing over children's fighting.

KARACHI: The chairman of a union council died after two groups of neighbors opened firing on each other following a fight among children in a street.

The incident occured in street No 19 of Bhitai Abad, according to the area police. They said that two groups of people in the area opened fire on each other that left seven persons injured. The clash was a result of fighting between children in the street.

The injured were shifted to hospital where one of them died. The deceased was identified as Sabir Magsi, the chairman of the union council No 19. 

The deceased was married and father of two children. He was doing a property business. 

Police reached the area and shifted the dead body for postmortem and later registered a case. The police said that the deceased was hit by a bullet in the neck.
