Over 3,000 Sikh yatrees arrive to attend religious event

Yatrees will return to India after completing their 10-day pilgrimage on April 22.

LAHORE: Over 3,000 Sikh yatrees from India have arrived in Pakistan to attend Baisakhi festival at Gurudwara Panja Sahib Hasanabdal on Monday.

The Sikh yatrees will return to India after completing their 10-day pilgrimage on April 22.

They entered Pakistan through Wagha border on Saturday and were welcomed by officials of Evacuee Trust Property Board. 

The yatrees will also visit their religious places at Hassanabdal, Nankana Sahib, Narowal, Eminabad and Badami Bagh Lahore, Radio Pakistan reported. 

All the arrangements including accommodation, security, transport and medical for yatrees have been completed by ETPB.

The main event of Baisakhi Mela will be held tomorrow at Gurudwara Panja Sahib Hasanabdal. The Sikh yatrees will return to India after completing their 10-day pilgrimage on twenty-second of this month.
