Six killed, 10 missing while six travelling on rooftop jumped off to safety.

MUZAFFARABAD: A land cruiser carrying 22 tourists fell into the river in Neelum valley of Azad Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday.

The District Disaster Management Authority said the vehicle was going from Kel to Taubat when it fell into the river at Karimabad.

Six tourists sitting on the rooftop of the vehicle saved their lives by jumping off the jeep. Local people and police retrieved five dead bodies from the river and launched a search for the others.

The six persons injured in the accident were shifted to hospital. Due to the remoteness of the area and as night fell, rescuers could not continue the search.
