MUZAFFARABAD: The martyrs of Chhota Bazar Srinagar were remembered and paid tribute on their 33rd martyrdom anniversary held in occupied Kashmir and different parts of Pakistan.
Occupation Central Reserve Police Force of India sprayed bullets on civilians at the Chhita Bazar of Srinagar on June 11, 1991, killing about 33 innocent people and injuring scores of others, including children and women.
To mark the day, one of the blackest for killing civilians by the occupation forces of India, seminars were organized by APHC in Muzaffarabad and Islamabad.
Speaking on the occasion, party leaders condemned the atrocities committed by Indian forces in occupied Jammu and Kashmir. They said the atrocities on the civilians by occupation forces still continued.
They said that the genocide of Kashmiris, destruction and occupation of their property, harassment of residents, including women, and dismissal of government employees have become commonplace in occupied Kashmir.
They said despite this brutality, India cannot suppress the freedom spirit of Kashmiris, as the people were determined to snatch their right to freedom from the occupation forces.
The speakers called upon the international community to play its role to give the people of Kashmir their birth right of life and dignity and end the illegal occupation of their land.
They also urged the United Nations to fulfil its promises and obligations by implementing the Security Council resolutions by holding a plebescite in Kashmir.
