Pakistan & Canada vow to enhance bilateral cooperation

Minister says Pakistan is taking solid measure to stop human trafficking.

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Canada have vowed to enhance their coordination and cooperation to tackle different issues related to trade, immigration and human and drug trafficking.

The understanding came at a meeting between Canadian High Commissioner Leslie Scanlon and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi.

The Canadian high commissioner highlighted the need for joint efforts to take action against illegal migrants and tight checking at the exit and entry point of the two countries.

Mr Naqvi said Pakistan is taking solid measure to stop human trafficking.

“Pakistan could provide skilled manpower to Canada in various fields and migration of skilled manpower to Canada would reduce cases of illegal human trafficking,” he added.
