PM hails Zakir Naik’s services for Islam

Renowned scholar says if we follow teachings of Islam we would be living a successful life.

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Wednesday paid tribute to prominent Islamic scholar and preacher Dr Zakir Naik for his services to Islam.

Dr Naik who is on a 10-day visit of Pakistan on the invitation of the government called on Mr Sharif at the Prime Minister House today.

Talking to the guest, the prime minister told Dr Naik that he was truly propagating the teachings of Islam across the world. 

The prime minister also told the scholar that he listens to his lectures on different Islamic topics, adding the lectures were always comprehensive and thought provoking. The prime minister added that he was happy to know that the son of Dr Naik was also serving Islam.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Zakir Naik said that his dream had come true by visiting Pakistan. He also said that he had first visited Pakistan in 1991. He said Pakistan was the only country which was created in the name of Islam.

He said it was his mission to spread the teachings of Islam in the world. If we follow the teachings of Islam we would be living a successful life, he added.

Dr Naik said that during his visit to Pakistan, he would be delivering lectures in Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi.
