OTTAWA: Canadian and American investigative agencies have exposed the ugly face of India, especially its Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) regarding extra-judicial killings of Sikh and Kashmiri leaders not only in India but also in Canada, America and other countries like Pakistan
According to a report published in an American newspaper, the government of India arranged the killing of 11 Sikh and Kashmiri leaders in Pakistan through its intelligence agency, RAW, in the past.
Indian and Canadian intelligence agencies started probing the Indian activities after a Sikh leader was assassinated in Canada and another escaped an assassination attempt in the USA last year.
India has been involved in extra-judicial killing of Kashmiris for decades where it has deployed over half a million troops who violate human rights with impunity, New Delhi thought it would carry out such tactics in countries like Canada and the US to eliminate popular voice at home.
However, the two most developed countries probed the assassination of a Sikh leader and the attempt to murder another and found out that Indian intelligence agency as well as its diplomats had a hand behind these crimes.
The US has also arrested a RAW agent involved in these crimes from Europe and indicted him in the case.
Canada recently kicked out six Indian diplomats including its high commissioner, fir their alleged role in the killing of a Sikh separatist leader.
The diplomatic between the two countries frayed since Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said last year he had evidence linking Indian agents to the assassination of Sikh leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar on Canadian territory.
The government now has “clear and compelling evidence that agents of the government of India have engaged in and continue to engage in activities that pose a significant threat to public safety,” Trudeau said at a news conference.
These activities involved clandestine information gathering techniques, coercive behaviour, targeting South Asian Canadians and involvement in over a dozen threatening and violent acts, including murder, he said.
“This is unacceptable,” he said, adding that India had committed a fundamental error by engaging in criminal activities in Canada.
Pakistan has long been calling up on the international community to take notice of Indian brutality and babarism in in occupied Kashmir where its troops have been giving people without dew process and detain and arresting them on concocted charges.
After the investigation and revelation of the involvement of RAW in the killing and assassination attempts on the soil of Canada and USA, the international committee should take action against India and consider it as a terrorism in sponsoring country.
