RAWALPINDI: Pakistan on Saturday won the three-match Test series against England by defeating the visitors in the third and last match at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
Spinners of Pakistani side sent the British batters to pavilion for 112 runs on the third day of the match. Pakistan got a target of just 36 runs to win the match and scored 37 runs for the loss of one wicket.
In the earlier two matches played in Multan, England had won the first and Pakistan the second match.
Pakistan won the second Test match against England in Multan by 152 runs and levelled the series by 1:1.
The cricket team had won none of the 11 Test matches played on home ground in the last about four years.
In the year 2022, Pakistan played three Test matches against Australia and two of the matches ended in a draw and the final match at Lahore was won by the visiting team by 11 runs.
The same year, Pakistan cricket team lost all the three Test matches against England. In 2022, all the Test matches between Pakistan and New Zealand ended in a draw.
Bangladesh defeated Pakistan in two Test matches played in Pakistan in 2024. In the first Test match played at Multan this month, England defeated Pakistan by an innings and 47 runs.
