Current assemblies are worthless, says Fazal

PESHAWAR: JUI chief Molana Fazlur Rehman has said that the current national and provincial assemblies have no worth and such assemblies are like toys even he can make from clay.

Addressing a gathering in Charsadda, he said that NGOs were used against religion in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, adding it is our responsibility to protect madrassas that are imparting religious education to the people.

“Our province is burning in fire, there is nothing like a government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the centre. The government is led by incompetent people,” the Molana added.

Molana Fazlur Rehman further said that the purpose of politics today is just to get power through illegal means. We cannot be swayed by sham elections, such elections were also conducted by Hasina Wajid of Bangladesh who was ousted by students last year, forcing her to flee to India.

He said that due to the illegal means used in the elections, the assemblies had lost their utility and masses had no representation in parliament.
