ISLAMABAD: It seems American woman Onija Andrew Robinson is in trouble of her own making for no reason.
The American woman, who fell in love with a Pakistani boy, had recently left for Dubai from Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport to en route to United States. But instead of returning home, she stayed in Dubai during which her videos also surfaced on social media.
Robinson, who arrived in Dubai on the night of February 7 from Karachi on flight EK603, has now been taken into protective custody.
The woman was supposed to fly from Dubai to New York on flight EK203, but she missed the flight and went to Dubai on an on-arrival visa because she is a US citizen.
The American woman came to Pakistan in October last year to marry her lover and had to return empty-handed after 120 days.
According to sources, her family members were waiting for Onija to arrive in New York, but when she did not turn up, the US authorities started searching for her.
After her videos surfaced showing her on the streets of Dubai, American agencies swung into action and contacted the Emirati authorities on which the woman’s movement was restricted and she was detained.
Now sending Onija to the United States from Dubai is again becoming a problem because the woman has not violated any law and she is on a visit visa.

“For some reason, even if the woman is deported from Dubai, no airline or pilot is willing to takeĀ  this “abnormal” woman on a 15-hour-long flight for security reasons,” said an official in Dubai.
