APHC condemns Modi regime for imposing restrictions in IIOJK

SRINAGAR: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference has strongly condemned the Indian authorities for imposing illegal restrictions to prevent people from offering the religious rituals of their beloved leader, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the APHC spokesman in a statement in Srinagar demanded a high-level probe by an impartial jurist under the auspices of the UN Secretary General into the custodial killing of Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai in Udhampur jail which has a reputation of killing of one inmate per year for the last four years now. He said the jail has been converted into the worst interrogation centre where detainees are subjected to physical torture. The spokesman thanked the people and government of Pakistan for continuously supporting the Kashmiris’ struggle for securing their right to self-determination.

Meanwhile, Indian forces’ personnel cordoned off the residence of martyred Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai in Barzulla area of Srinagar. The forces’ personnel have blocked all the roads and lanes leading to the residence of Ashraf Sehrai and are not allowing people to visit his family members and express condolence with them. The spokesman of Jammu Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party, headed by incarcerated Shabbir Ahmed Shah, in a statement strongly condemned the occupation authorities’ action.

The Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Freedom Front, Syed Bashir Andrabi, Haq-e-Khud Iradiyat Forum Jammu and Kashmir and various Sikh organizations including Sikh Intellectuals Circle J&K, Shiromni Akali Dal (Amritsar), International Sikh Federation, Sikh Students Federation, J&K Sikh Council and Sikh Youths of J&K in their statements and meetings paid glowing tributes to Ashraf Sehrai.

The Chairman of Brussels-based Kashmir Council Europe, Ali Raza Syed, in an open letter to the European Union high officials asked them to raise the issue of human rights violations by Indian troops in IIOJK in the EU Summit with India in Portugal, today.
