Islamabad: Pakistan has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening economic and trade ties with the United States, as Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb departs for Washington to conclude key Pak-US trade negotiations.
The visit marks a significant step forward in fostering bilateral economic cooperation at a time when development priorities at home are drawing scrutiny.
According to official sources, a bilateral trade agreement between Pakistan and the United States is expected to provide mutual economic benefits and open new avenues for growth. The United States remains Pakistan’s largest trading partner, and strong trade and economic relations are considered a cornerstone of the broader Pak-US relationship.
“Pakistan is keen to expand bilateral trade beyond traditional sectors into non-traditional areas like information technology, minerals, and agriculture,” said a spokesperson from the Ministry of Finance. “There are vast opportunities for collaboration, and the Finance Minister’s visit will help unlock new potential.”
