At dawn, the dacoits cleaned the jewelery shop at Gunpoint in the supermarket, a major commercial center in Islamabad, and easily escaped. The value of gold is said to be more than Rs 4 crore, which is the biggest gold robbery in the history of Islamabad.

According to the FIR, three armed robbers entered the Honey Jewelers yesterday and looted 400 tonnes of gold and Rs 400 lakh in cash from the security guards along with their staff. As per the FIR, all dacoits were  around forty-five years old. They came as a customer to the shop and looted at gunpoint.

Police registered a case in Kohsar police station while SHO Shabbir Tanoli was suspended. Traders also staged a protest against the incident today. Police officials said that the robbers would be arrested soon.
