ISLAMABAD: Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand will undertake an official visit to Pakistan tomorrow, marking her first trip to the country since assuming office. The visit reflects the shared commitment of Pakistan and Canada to further strengthen bilateral relations and expand cooperation across a range of mutually beneficial sectors.
The visit is being undertaken at the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar, who will host the Canadian Foreign Minister for high-level bilateral engagements in Islamabad.
During the visit, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Foreign Minister Anita Anand will hold comprehensive bilateral talks covering the entire spectrum of Pakistan-Canada relations. The discussions will focus on promoting cooperation in trade and investment, expanding collaboration in education, and enhancing people-to-people exchanges, which remain a key pillar of relations between the two countries.
The two foreign ministers will also exchange views on regional and global developments of mutual interest, reaffirming their commitment to continued dialogue and cooperation on international and regional issues.
In addition to her official engagements with the Foreign Minister, Anita Anand is scheduled to call on the leadership of Pakistan to discuss matters of bilateral importance and avenues for broadening cooperation.
