Child sexual abuses: death sentence to a key figure in the Dark Web

RAWALPINDI: Sohail Ayaz, the ringleader of the International Dark Web, for sexually abusing children has been sentenced to death, life imprisonment and a fine of Rs 1.5 million by a court in Rawalpindi.

Announcing the verdict in the child abuse and video scandal case, Additional Sessions Judge Rawalpindi Jahangir Ali sentenced Sohail Ayaz to death under Section 367A after he was found guilty in three cases.

The court sentenced the accused to life imprisonment under section 377, a total fine of Rs 1.5 million and seven more years and 15 years imprisonment under two more sections. Co-accused Khurram Tahir alias Kalu has been sentenced to seven years imprisonment.

A case was registered against Sohail Ayaz on November 12, 2019 at Rawat police station for abducting a 12-year-old child, raping him and making a video.

However, during the interrogation, the accused revealed the abuse of 30 children, while the accused has also been sentenced in Italy and the United Kingdom in cases of child abuse.
