ISLAMABAD: Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, a member of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Politburo, arrived in Islamabad today for a three-day official visit to Pakistan.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar received the visiting dignitary at Nur Khan Airport, where children dressed in traditional attire welcomed him with flowers, showcasing Pakistan’s warm hospitality.
During his stay, Wang Yi will represent China in the sixth round of the Pak-China Strategic Dialogue, scheduled for tomorrow. The high-level dialogue will be co-chaired by Wang Yi and Ishaq Dar, highlighting the enduring partnership and strategic ties between the two countries.
The dialogue is expected to focus on strengthening economic cooperation, advancing ongoing infrastructure projects, and exploring new opportunities for trade and investment under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
Officials are also likely to discuss regional security, counterterrorism efforts, and ways to enhance people-to-people exchanges between the two nations.
This visit underscores the importance both Pakistan and China place on sustaining a long-term strategic partnership. Analysts say it comes at a crucial time, as both countries seek to consolidate progress in bilateral trade, infrastructure development, and regional stability initiatives.
