CJP took notice of temple burning in Karak, KPK

Chief Justice of Pakistan Gulzar Ahmed has taken notice of the incident of burning a temple in Karak area of ​​Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and has sought a report from the Chief Secretary and IG Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Minority leader Dr Ramesh Kumar called on Chief Justice Gulzar Ahmed at the Supreme Court Karachi Registry and apprised him of the incident of burning of a temple in Karak area of ​​Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The Chief Justice of Pakistan expressed grave concern over the incident.

According to a statement issued by the Supreme Court of Pakistan, Chief Justice Gulzar Ahmed has directed the Chief Secretary and IG Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to submit the details of the incident by January 4, 2021. A formal hearing in this regard will be held in the Supreme Court on January 5, 2021.

It is to be noted that the incident of burning of a Hindu temple by a mob took place in Teri area of ​​Karak district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The angry mob also demolished the house of a Hindu man under construction near the temple.
