The death toll in the devastating flooding across parts of Texas has crossed the figure of 50 with no trace to many missing persons.
According to international news agencies, the floods have resulted in significant damage to infrastructure. Houses and cars have been destroyed, roads have been blocked by fallen trees, and several tragic incidents have led to the deaths of 51 people, including 15 children.
The worst-hit areas include Kerr County, where 43 deaths have been reported, and Burnet County, with three fatalities. Additionally, around 27 girls have gone missing from a riverside summer camp. Search and rescue operations are currently underway to locate them.
Emergency responders have rescued 850 people from affected areas so far. Authorities have issued warnings urging residents to stay away from flooded zones for their own safety.
Due to ongoing rainfall and further flood warnings, states of emergency have been declared in several counties. The governor has appealed to President Trump for federal emergency assistance.
