First flight of Sadpara Air Safari departs from Islamabad with 91 foreign tourists

ISLAMABAD: In a move meant to cater to rising tourism in the country, national flag carrier Pakistan International Airline (PIA) started its Sadpara Air Safari flights.

The inaugural flight of Sadpara Air Safari departed to Skardu from Islamabad on Saturday with 91 foreign traveler of 13 different countries. Federal Minister Hamad Azhar was also among the tourists.

According to PIA spokesperson the first flight of Air Safari flew from Islamabad to Skardu and one-way fare for Air Safari service is Rs25, 000.

Renamed after the prominent mountaineer Ali Sadpara, ‘Sadpara Air Safari’ will operate every Saturday from the New Islamabad Airport and fly over the snow-capped peaks including K2, Nanga Parbat and the famous Saif ul Maluk lake.

He said that Air Safari will also boost tourism in the country. Earlier the national airline PIA had successfully operated nearly 8 flights per day from Skardu airport for the first time in its history, he added.
