Goods Transporters Continue Nationwide Wheel-Jam Strike

ISLAMABAD: Goods transporters across the country continue their wheel-jam against rising diesel prices and other costs

The goods transporters said that daily changes and continuous increases in diesel prices have created serious difficulties for the goods transportation sector, while higher toll taxes and other issues have further increased their problems

The transporters have demanded that the decision to fix diesel prices on a daily basis be withdrawn. They have also called for the increase in toll taxes to be reversed and for toll rates to be brought back to the level prevailing on June 30, 2024.

The transporters further demanded that the withholding tax be reduced from 7 percent to 2 percent.

They also called for the withdrawal of Customs SRO 1619 and demanded implementation of axle-load laws.

In addition, the goods transporters demanded that parking facilities be provided for transporters at Karachi Port and Port Qasim.

The nationwide wheel-jam strike will continue until the transporters’ demands are accepted.
