LAHORE: Pakistan’s national hockey team has departed from Allama Iqbal International Airport for the Netherlands and Belgium to participate in the Hockey World Cup, scheduled to be held from August 15 to 30.
The national side will represent Pakistan in the tournament, with the team leaving Lahore as preparations for the prestigious competition enter their final stage.
The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has also released an allowance of Rs200 million for the players ahead of their participation in the World Cup. According to the federation, the foreign daily allowance has been transferred to the players’ accounts.
The PHF said all logistical arrangements for the national team have been completed, including travel, accommodation and meals for the players and coaching staff.
PHF President Mohiuddin Wani said the welfare of the players and coaches remains the federation’s top priority, adding that all financial and administrative matters had also been completed before the team’s departure.
The national hockey team will enter the World Cup with the determination to deliver an improved performance and achieve success for Pakistan.
