Govt to Continue Diplomatic Efforts for Second Round of US-Iran Talks

ISLAMABAD: A high-level meeting chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was held on Wednesday to review the evolving regional situation following the extension of the Iran–US ceasefire, with senior federal ministers and top officials in attendance.

During the meeting, participants discussed the latest developments in the region, particularly the situation emerging after the ceasefire extension between Iran and United States.

According to sources, it was agreed that Pakistan will continue its diplomatic efforts to ensure the holding of a second round of negotiations. In this regard, Pakistani leadership is expected to maintain contact with Iranian counterparts as part of ongoing diplomatic engagement.

The meeting also welcomed the announcement by the US president regarding the extension of the ceasefire, terming it a positive development for regional stability.

Officials reiterated that Pakistan remains committed to facilitating dialogue and supporting all initiatives aimed at de-escalation and lasting peace in the region.
