Hajj Flight Operation Completes, Over 119,000 Pilgrims Reach KSA

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has completed its 34-day Hajj flight operation, facilitating the departure of thousands of pilgrims to Saudi Arabia.

According to officials, the final Hajj flight, PK-741, departed from Lahore carrying 290 pilgrims to Jeddah, marking the conclusion of this year’s operation. The first flight had taken off on April 18 from Lahore.

Under the government Hajj scheme, a total of 468 flights transported approximately 119,000 pilgrims to the holy cities. Of these, 186 flights were directed to Madinah, while 282 flights landed in Jeddah.

Flights were operated from eight major cities across the country. Islamabad led with 129 flights, followed by Karachi with 124 and Lahore with 104. Other cities included Quetta (18 flights), Multan (34), Sialkot (26), Faisalabad (23), and Sukkur (5).

Officials further stated that among the pilgrims traveling under the official scheme, 67,230 were men and 51,846 were women.

The Hajj operation was carried out with the participation of Pakistan International Airlines, along with Saudi carriers and private airlines, ensuring smooth and timely transportation of pilgrims.

Authorities described the operation as well-coordinated and successful, highlighting the collective efforts of aviation authorities and airline operators.
