Hollywood Actor Killed in Stabbing Incident
LOS ANGELES: Veteran Hollywood actor James Handy has been killed after being stabbed at his home in Los Angeles, according to media reports.
The 81-year-old actor, known for his roles in popular films such as Jumanji and Top Gun: Maverick, was attacked at his residence earlier this week. He was rushed to hospital following the stabbing but later succumbed to his injuries.
Police have charged a 44-year-old man, identified as Michael Gladhill, in connection with the killing. Authorities say the suspect lived with his mother, who was reportedly a friend of the victim.
According to officials, the suspect told police after his arrest that he was the person they were looking for and made unusual statements during custody.
James Handy had a long career in Hollywood spanning several decades, appearing in both films and television series. His work included roles in crime drama shows such as NCIS: Los Angeles, The Closer, and Cold Case.
The suspect’s bail has been set at $2 million, while investigations into the motive behind the attack are ongoing.
