RAWALPINDI: Police in Rawalpindi have arrested jailed PTI founder and former Prime Minister Imran Khan in seven more cases registered against him recently.
Imran Khan was on physical remand for six days in different cases registered against him on September 28 this year and today the New Town Police of Rawalpindi produced him before a court inside the Adiala jail.
The prosecution did not press for the extension of the physical remand after which the court sent the PTI founder and former Prime Minister on judicial remand.
On the other hand, the Rawalpindi police said they have arrested Imran Khan in seven more cases registered in connection with the protest march on Islamabad by the PTI demanding his release on November 26.
Hundreds of PTI workers were arrested in Rawalpindi and Islamabad during the protest that ended in an operation conducted by law enforcement agencies in Islamabad in the early hours of November 27.
In seven of the many cases registered in Rawalpindi, Imran Khan along with other leaders of the PTI and hundreds of the party workers were nominated. The police said that the protesters attacked police and other law enforcement agencies personnel and damaged public and private properties. They were also carrying arms.
