Imran threatens to go on hunger strike in jail

Says will decide about date of hunger strike against ill-treatment after consulting party.

RAWALPINDI: Jailed PTI founder and former prime minister Imran khan has threatened to observe a hunger strike against what he said ill-treatment in the jail.

Talking to media persons in Adiala jail, he said he will decide about date of hunger strike against ill-treatment after consulting party.

About differences and grouping in hus party, Imran said that he had asked the party leaders not to bring their internal issues in the public. He said he had called the PTI leaders to meet him to sort out things.

When they arrived outside the jail, they were nit allowed entry, and he was kept on waiting for them for over three hours, Imran added.

The PTI founder said that his opponents were trying to create differences and groupings in the party to weaken it.

About negotiations with the government or the establishment, he said the time for parleys was Feb 8 when the masses gave PTI a heavy mandate.

Imran Khan said that Article 6 should be used against the chief election commissioner for alleged theft of the public mandate.

It may be mentioned here that the former prime minister has been kept in the Adiala jail of Rawalpindi in a number of cases registered against him since his government was removed through a no-confidence movement.
