Imran’s supporters protest outside White House in Washington
Protesters allege human rights violations in Pakistan.
WASHINGTON: A group of Pakistani-Americans supporting embattled PTI chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan gathered outside White House here and chanted slogans in his support.
The protesters alleged human rights violations amid a crackdown on workers and activists of the PTI following violence in the wake of Imran’s brief arrest on May 9 in a corruption case in Islamabad.
The protesters said thousands of people had been arrested and kept in undisclosed locations without following the legal procedures in Pakistan.
They also raised alarms over government announcement to try all those involved in attacks on military installations in military courts.
The protesters called upon human rights organizations and the US government to take up the rights violations with the government in Islamabad and ensure there were no prosecution of political workers in the country.
