India goes to FATF with KP CM’s Statement as Evidence Against Pakistan
KP chief Minister had alleged: “We arrest Taliban members, but institutions release them.”
ISLAMABAD: The Indian government has submitted a controversial statement by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur to the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) as evidence against Pakistan.
According to FATF officials, India presented the Chief Minister’s statement as part of its case to push for Pakistan’s re-inclusion in the FATF grey list.
In his statement, Ali Amin Gandapur alleged: “We arrest Taliban members, but institutions release them.”
India has used this statement to reinforce its claim that Pakistan supports terrorists, submitting it as part of a chargesheet against the country. The Indian government has formally requested that FATF re-add Pakistan to the grey list based on this evidence.
It is worth noting that Pakistan was removed from the FATF grey list in October 2022, after being listed since 2018.
Since then, the Indian government and Indian media have consistently run campaigns attempting to discredit Pakistan and push for its re-listing.
